CHERIE WORTHINGTON-EYRE. ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Cherie is the founder of Moongate Dance Theatre and presently completing a Masters in Degree in Dance at Limerick University. Moongate Dance Theatre features in the brochure for Bedford Interactive, a company run by Dr. Jacqueline Smith-Autard one of the leading dance educators in the world. Please see the front page of our website. She has more than 25 years experience as a director/ choreographer in many different areas of the intertainment industry, with community groups and schools. Cherie is an independant teacher registered as a professional member of Dance Ireland, a member of the Australian and Irish Gymnastics Associations and is qualified and had a proven track record to train to elite level. She has worked with Government Bodies in Australia and Ireland, corporate bodies, private enterprise, community groups and schools. Founder of "State of the Art" Dance Company, a youth dance company who performed in many different events, including a car launch for Mitusbishi and the launch of a major newspaper in the Adelaide Festival Centre. She was the choreographer for the Renmore Pantomime from 2004-2009, and a contributor to the Dancer in Residence Programme in 2007 in Galway. Moongate Dance Theatre was formed in 2009 for talented young performers who are serious about their art and offers the opportunity for company members to develop artistic skills in different performance genre.
GABOR MOLNAR. PERSONAL TRAINER
Gabor is a qualified Civil Engineer (qualified from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology in 2003) and has worked in the construction sector for 10 years. He held senior engineer positions with leading companies and designed structures from houses to shopping centres, and was involved in drainage and other infrastructure projects as well. He set up his own company in 2007 and he has successfuly been in business for the past 5 years.
Prior to this, Gabor attended the University of Medicine in Debrecen in Hungary between 1993 and 1997. He specialised in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and has been using this knowledge to train athletes since 1995. He is an accomplished athlete in his own right and he a proven track record of creating his own programs that build strength and endurance in boxers both here in Ireland and in Hungary.
Gabor has just recently qualified as a Level 1 Weight Lifting Coach through the I.A.WL.A. The success that Gabor has had training athletes is due to his philosophy that much greater progress can be made by fixing the weak links of the kinetical chain and that he implements individually tailored and specific training programs for the three different areas of physical activity: strength, speed and stamina.
Gabor has been working with Moongate Dance Theatre for the last 18 months, successfully designing and implementing progressive and innovative programs that not only address the individual development of the dancers but also the artistic demands of the different performance genre.
